Who we are

Narra is a voice-first storytelling app. This policy covers both the Narra app and this website, including our pre-launch waitlist.

Your voice

Narra records audio, so this is the part that matters most. The microphone is used only while you are actively recording a story or a voice reply — never in the background, and never without you starting it. iOS asks your permission the first time, and you can withdraw it at any point in Settings.

When you publish, the recording is uploaded to our storage and stays there so it can be played back. We process it to make it sound better (noise reduction and levelling) and we generate a written transcript automatically so the story is accessible to people who can use it. Recordings you never publish stay as drafts on your device.

We do not use your recordings to train AI models, and we do not sell them. Deleting a story deletes its audio and transcript; deleting your account deletes all of it.

What the app collects

• Your account — email address, and a password if you set one. Sign-in is handled by Supabase, our authentication provider.
• Your profile — username, display name, optional bio and photo.
• Your content — audio recordings, their transcripts, titles, descriptions and tags, and any cover image you add.
• Your activity — who you follow, listen counts, and the reports or blocks you create. Likes, saves and listening history are kept on your device.
• Notifications — a device push token, so we can tell you about replies and new followers. It is removed when you sign out.
• Diagnostics — crash reports and basic usage analytics, through Sentry and PostHog, to find and fix problems.

Who else is involved

We use a small number of service providers to run Narra: Supabase (accounts and database), Cloudflare R2 (audio and image storage), Render (our servers), Expo (push notifications), and Sentry and PostHog (crash reports and analytics). They process data on our behalf under their own terms. We do not sell your information or share it for advertising.

Recording other people

If a story features someone else’s voice, you are responsible for having their agreement before you publish it. If a recording of you was published without your consent, write to hello@narra.app and we will remove it.

Deleting your data

You can delete any story or reply from its menu, and you can delete your entire account from Settings → Account → Delete my account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, recordings, transcripts, audio files, follows and notifications. It can’t be undone, and we can’t recover it afterwards. Reports you filed about other people are kept for safety, with your identity removed.

Children

Narra is not for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist we collect your email address, the consent language you agreed to, the date and time, the page you signed up from, and your browser’s user-agent string. We also use basic analytics to understand how the site is used.

How we use it

We use your email to send you updates about Narra — early access, launch news, and occasional progress notes. That’s it. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with third parties except the service providers that store our data and deliver our email.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, and you can ask us to delete your information entirely by writing to hello@narra.app. We keep waitlist information only as long as we need it for launch communications, or until you ask us to remove it.
